What is Stadia?
Google Stadia is the Cloud Gaming service from Google. What this means is, with stadia you will be able to play games from cloud and stream it to your devices. The games will be installed, setup and rendered on cloud and will be streamed to your device. This means your device doesn’t need to have any more power that what is required to run Chrome.
What has it to offer?
Google Stadia offers true 4K resolution at 60 fps with HDR support for game titles. It looks the most promising among all the cloud gaming services. It’s YouTube integration is deemed to be a selling point for the service. Stadia’s features like state share allow multiple players to share a moment and connect to it all at the same time.
A controller is also designed with two distinct features, one is to launch Google Assistant and the other is to capture and share a moment in the game. The service debuted with the closed beta of Assassins Creed Odyssey on October 2018. The public release is to be in late 2019.
Only time will tell how Stadia will stand up to SONY’s PlayStation Now and Microsoft’s Project xCloud service.
Google is aiming to provide the joy of gaming to as many people as possible. This in itself is a great initiative as it aims to mitigate the financial barrier among the gaming community and forms a pathway for greater interaction and fun.
